Study for predicting the earthquake-induced liquefaction around the monopile foundation of offshore wind turbines

چکیده

Earthquakes may cause liquefaction of seabed soil around the monopile foundations offshore wind turbines (OWTs), posing a great threat to safety OWTs. As an accurate prediction method has not been achieved today, further study is conducted in this paper following experimental investigation pore pressure development rule samples farm. In study, new discrimination was proposed first based on triaxial test results samples. Secondly, numerical model monopile-supported OWT developed ABAQUS. Then, various seismic waves originating from depths were applied calculate corresponding shear stress foundation. Finally, foundation different scenarios assessed using method. The research show that newly more estimating critical anti-liquefaction strength. Severe mainly occurs shallow layers OWT's structure, lateral loads top OWT, and bidirectional earthquakes will exacerbate soil.

Similitude relationships for physical modelling of monopile-supported offshore wind turbines

Offshore wind turbines are considered as an important element of the future energy infrastructure. There is currently a surge in the construction of such facilities in Europe, yet there is no track record of long-term performance of these structures. Offshore wind turbines are dynamically sensitive structures because of the very nature of the structural form (tall and slender) and the different...

The Influence of Foundation Modeling Assumptions on Long-term Load Prediction for Offshore Wind Turbines

In evaluating ultimate limit states for design, time-domain aeroelastic response simulations are typically carried out to establish extreme loads on offshore wind turbines. Accurate load prediction depends on proper modeling of the wind turbulence and the wave stochastic processes as well as of the turbine, the support structure, and the foundation. One method for modeling the support structure...

Evaluation of Turbulence on the Dynamics of Monopile Offshore Wind Turbine under the Wave and Wind Excitations

In recent years, the use of offshore wind turbines has been considered on the agenda of the countries which have a significant maritime boundary due to more speed and stability of wind at sea. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of wind turbulence on the aero-hydrodynamic behavior of offshore wind turbines with a monopile platform. Since in the sea, the wind turbine structures ar...

Optimization of monopiles for offshore wind turbines.

The offshore wind industry currently relies on subsidy schemes to be competitive with fossil-fuel-based energy sources. For the wind industry to survive, it is vital that costs are significantly reduced for future projects. This can be partly achieved by introducing new technologies and partly through optimization of existing technologies and design methods. One of the areas where costs can be ...
